About Menokin and JART, Inc.

Menokin is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit historic site and wildlife preserve. It is a National Historic Landmark where Signer of the Declaration of Independence, Francis Lightfoot Lee, built his home in 1769. This home, named Menokin, is located on the ancestral homelands of the Rappahannock Tribe and retains the name from the Algonquin language. By the 20th century, the house had fallen into ruin. Today the reimagined architectural ruin, known as the Glass House Project, weaves a modern interpretation of the past into the present across 500 acres of fields, woods and waterways, preserved in perpetuity. We welcome your interpretation of this magical place.

JART, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.  JART sponsors events like Paint Menokin, the Stafford Arts Festival, and other art events, and is committed to channeling the proceeds generated from these events back into the community where they are raised.
