Immerse, Record, Create
Experiencing Scottish Landscapes with the Walkers
July 10-16, 2025
Spend a week learning the art of observation through a variety of techniques and media from the husband and wife artist duo Steven and Evelyn Walker. Participants will see and experience different landscapes as we travel the rich history and picturesque countryside of Scotland.
There will be guided tours to provide insight to local lore while also scheduling plenty of alone time for folks to “find themselves.” Students are encouraged to walk into town; frequent the many shops and eateries within the town square or city center–gathering materials along the way. As they settle down in a quaint space they will document and doodle what they have seen and done that morning. Join us as we record our travels by filling endless pages of our artist books with local ephemera, impromptu sketches, sensory observations, creative writing and more!
Using these sketch pages as inspiration, students will spend designated days painting what truly speaks to them. Students will quickly realize this workshop is less about the act of painting, but instead the discoveries experienced along the way to make them a deeper artist.

Meet The Teachers
Evelyn Davis-Walker
Evelyn Davis-Walker holds a B.A. in both Visual Communication and Computer Art from Otterbein University with a minor in world religion and a M.F.A. in Advertising Design from Marywood University. Evelyn is a graphic designer; a maker; an educator; and a socially engaged art activist. She has taught graphic design at the university-level for over 17 years and has run her design business with her husband for the last 21 years.
Evelyn has a strong affinity for all things paper – from mixed media collage, creating typographical prints on her letterpress machine, and assembling handmade books. Her art practice is centered around strengthening the need for care and empathy towards others through visual communication. She has received numerous awards and has exhibited in solo, group and juried exhibitions.
For her, everything has the potential to influence art, it is just a matter of observing and reflecting on it.
