SECOND SUNDAYS
February
Audwin Porter, Untitled
February 11th through March 3
Sunday Opening, 1 - 4:00. Refreshments provided.
Audwin is from Calleo, but he has lived in various places including Richmond, Northern Virginia, and Las Vegas. He is now returning to the Northern Neck with a distinctive artistic journey.

Drawing inspiration from his early discovery of the joy of translating observations onto paper in elementary school, Audwin connects with diverse groups, influencing his projects—from portraits and landscapes to abstract works. Motivated by unexpected facial expressions captured in photographs, he aims to give ordinary people a voice in his portraits, while his pursuit of themes with repeated patterns and movement shapes his ideas for paintings and landscapes

All of this has culminated, according to Audwin, a hodgepodge basement collection which cannot be contained visually with a pair of eyes He is an eclectic artist whose artworks are overflowing and ready to be enjoyed.

Expressions of Tomorrow: A Showcase of Young Artists from Westmoreland County
Join us in welcoming the incredibly talented art students from Westmoreland County and Colonial Beach to the much-anticipated art exhibition, "Expressions of Tomorrow."
This year, we're thrilled to introduce an exciting change – the opportunity for you to be a part of the judging process! We're implementing a "People's Choice" award system. You get to cast your votes for your favorite artworks from each school, and the winners will receive small prizes, benefiting both the talented young artists and their dedicated teachers.
We are enthusiastic about providing this platform for our budding artists to not only showcase their creativity but also to be recognized and celebrated by the community. Your participation in voting for the "People's Choice" will make a significant impact, contributing to the encouragement and growth of these young talents.
Let's come together to support and celebrate the artistic achievements of our local youth. Join us in making "Expressions of Tomorrow" a memorable and inspiring event for all!

Scratch the Surface w/Lonnie Hawkins and Donna Tizol
Opening April 14th, 1 - 4:00
Southern Maryland artists, Lonnie Harkins and Donna Tizol, work in many different media. Among other mediums, Lonnie does photography, makes pottery, and creates jewelry. Donna paints in acrylics, watercolors, and collage.
This show features their scratchboard art works.

Scratchboard is a form of direct engraving where the artist removes black ink from a treated board to reveal the white clay layer below using assorted sharp knives and other tools.
Lonnie will sometimes add colored inks to his very detailed works, whereas Donna prefers the contrast of black and white, often leaving the shadows to come into play.
